KINGS...

Okay... last archive post for a long while... I promise. This one is particularly relevant though. The Sacramento Kings likely played their last game in their current form in the city of my youth... Sactown.

Obviously... as distant as I am from the NBA right now... I'm not happy about it. Particularly after watching the youtube-ized version of their send off pkg from CSN last night. Damn! Those montage reels, with a few sound ups, cut to a familiar tune... it gets me every time.

Anyway... the above pic was the last time I attended a Kings game. It was in February of 2007. We (yes we, I'm on the team) had began slipping deep into NBA obscurity at that point... but on one magical night in Arco... we beat up a much better Denver team, and walked away with the win. I'm glad that's how it ended for me live and in person. I'm still deeply saddened that it has ended so disastrously for my Kings, in general, though.

Sacramento deserved better.

TECHNO-SETBACK

So I dropped my point and shoot camera and broke the lens cover. It's off getting repaired right now. This means a setback at photo central. So here's 6 archive shots to make up for lost time. And I'll unearth my SLR to pick up the slack.

PUTTING DOWN ROOTS

MONDAY 4-4
This is the root system in a garlic start. This lived in the work garden and was about to get composted, when I pulled it up to transplant into my garden.


Speaking of my garden...

SUNDAY 4-3
I spent the weekend getting it launched. I'm making my own starts this year. Normally I buy starts and transplant them.


Of course all of this hinges on whether the weather will ever take a turn for the better.

SATURDAY 4-2
I spend the day Saturday attempting to work in the yard/garden... (or yarden, if you will)... but the opportunities were brief as storm systems rolled through assembly line style.


But much like the ugly start to the baseball season... IT'S EARLY... and I have all spring and summer for things to turn around.

THURSDAY

MLB opening day... Giants didn't look as good as these beers tasted. They were on special... They were called Brown #28... which sounds made up. They were real though. I know because I drank them.
